It also prevents tiny calcium oxalate crystals that are already in the kidneys from growing and massing together into larger stones. It also makes the urine less acidic, which inhibits the development of both calcium oxalate and uric acid stones. Lemon water is often touted as a cleansing or alkalizing drink, the main reason it is helpful in reducing stone formation is its citric acid content. 

Limit intake of animal protein: - Eating too much of animal protein such as seafood, red meat or poultry, eggs can boost the level of uric acid which can further lead to kidney stones. A high-protein diet also reduces levels of citrate, the chemical in urine that helps prevent stones from forming. If you’re prone to stones, limit your daily meat intake.

Eat More Carbohydrates: - Inadequate intake of carbohydrates in the diet can also lead to kidney stones.

Moderate your Salt intake: - Excess intake of salt consumption can promote the formation of kidney stones. You should reduce the amount of salt you intake. You should also consider using a salt substitute.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables: - You should eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Eating fruits and vegetables give you potassium, fiber, magnesium, antioxidants, and citrate, all of these can keep kidney stones from forming.
